My memories of Jean began when Harry was about 9 months and Jean brought him along to our church weekend away in Crosby Hall. Harry didn't stay with Jean for long as he took a liking to my son (they were wearing the same Peruvian style hats). Harry had a big adventure in the woods making shelters, exploring and whittling wood. Jean was thrilled to see Harry so content in such a large group. It was from this day that my friendship with Jean blossomed, she wasn't just my sister's friend from that day she became my friend also. Jean has been very supportive to our church children since that weekend and we will all miss her very much at our parties and at the Christmas eve nativity service. Jean always worked quietly in the background, fundraising and donating items for our sales to fund our weekends away and loved to hear our stories and see photographs. She had time for everybody and always took time to listen and advise. She never expected to be praised for all her help, she was a very humble lady and the world is a much sadder place without her. She had her own mug at church and everybody knew how to make her milky water tea. When we return, once lockdown is lifted, we will raise our cuppas to Jean. We will always set a place at our table for Jean and especially so at Eleanor and Sean's wedding next July. Goodnight and God bless you Jean from margy and the children from the Baptist church. We will always love you and never forget you 💖💞💜🙏
