So saddened to hear of the ‘gaffer’s’ passing, Jean you were truly an awesome lady. You were a formidable force, your dedication to fight injustice and ensure the wellbeing of the reps, members and anyone else who knocked on your door was phenomenal. I met you at a time when I had been broken by noxious behaviour of others. You were an inspiration, our chats fired me up & gave me confidence to speak up and challenge inequality and discrimination. I am honoured to have been a rep in your team & to have served alongside you in Sefton Branch. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your wealth of knowledge & experience, for all the positive encouragement, the laughs, the headaches & the friendship. The Walton Centre, Aintree Hospital, Sefton Unison branch & many other services have been greatly improved by her tireless efforts to secure the health, safety & wellbeing of everyone.
